Vijayapura: Man duped of over Rs 40 lac on pretext of marriage, files complaint


Vijayapura, Nov 19 (IANS): A man was allegedly duped of over Rs 40 lac by a woman on the pretext of marriage in Vijayapura district of Karnataka, police said on Saturday.

The accused lured the man by saying that she has become an IAS officer, and made him transfer Rs 41,26,800 through multiple transactions.

Victim Parameshwar Hipparagi, a resident of Bagaluru village has lodged a case with the cyber police.

According to police, the accused came in contact with Hipparagi, a private company employee, on Facebook. The woman posing as K.R. Manjula from Hassan had sent a friend request on Facebook and after he accepted the request, she started chatting with him from June 29.

Manjula had asked for a transfer of Rs 700 claiming that her mother is sick. Later, she went on extracting money from him for her mother's hospitalisation, burial.

Later, Manjula maintained that she had cracked UPSC exams and she has become an IAS officer now. Manjula also told him that she is offered the job of District Commissioner and is going to Bengaluru to get the charge.

She started asking him to transfer money in thousands and afterwards in lakhs promising that she would give it back to him in one shot.

After transferring Rs 41,26,800 to her account, Parameshwar realised that he was being conned and lodged a complaint with cyber police.

A special team has been formed to nab the accused.

    It is not new trick.People in Face book ,or other media are fake ones and give as girls ,but in fact mostly men with name of girls,showing someones name and fame.Try to takeout money as much as possible and when they come to know he /she is doubting on the verge of got caught ,simply account is closed and disappear.We too had many such cases.When one bakra pay to girl each time without asking ,have to be careful.They show mostly sickness death and hospital bla bla cases to awake feelings and you are already in net.Be careful .why he paid without inquiring is a big quiz,that too such a amount.Now he can not do anything .such people stay behind screen and you have the saladsad.

    The main Q which strikes you is how a fool like " Hipparangi " somebody ever had over 42 lakhs in cash with him 🤔🤣🤔🤔!! Over FB he showers 42 lakhs over an unknown lady !! So with that calculation any lady would have stripped him of everything !! Enquire first as to how this fella is a mental brat or if not, how he accumulated such wealth !! It's only because such fools exists that looters prosper !! That lady seems to have hit a Jack and his Pot together.
