Udupi, Nov 19: Canara Bank celebrated the 117th anniversary of Founder’s Day at the Founders' Monument in Manipal on Saturday, November 19.
H K Gangadhar, DGM inaugurated the celebration by lighting the lamp. Later, a floral tribute was paid by the dignitaries to the bank’s founder Ammembal Subba Rao Pai.
Speaking on the occasion, Canara Bank DGM H K Gangadhar said, "Today is the day to remember Ammembal Subba Rao Pai as we celebrate 117th Founder’s Day of Canara Bank. To befit the occasion, let us make a resolution to plant 117 trees.”
Canara bank distributed things of daily use to Krishna Nikethana and Krishnanugraha organisations and Udupi school.
A blood donation camp was also held where more than 90 employees of the bank donated blood including the DGM and GM.
Azad Abtuli compered the event.
Yogish B, general manager, Canara Bank and other bank officials were also present.
