Karkala: House gutted in fire mishap, loss estimated at Rs one lac

Karkala, Nov 20: A house got completely gutted in accidental fire at Kantavara village in the taluk.

The house belongs to Nonaiah, local resident of Kantavara. After his death, his nephew Sanjeeva and his daughter Prema were living in the house since four years.

On Saturday November 19, within a short time after Sanjeeva left home for work, the house caught fire. Locals doused the fire but major part of the house was already gutted.

The loss is estimated to be Rs one lac. Revenue department officials visited the spot and are assessing the loss.
