Mangaluru, Nov 26: St Agnes CBSE School held the valedictory programme which was another grandeur ceremony at St Agnes Special School Ground.
The dignitaries were chief guest Walter Nandalike, founder Daijiworld Media, guest of honour Ashwin Kumar Padukone national silver medallist and professional table tennis Coach, Dr Kumar Naik, vice president school welfare committee, the school principal Sr Maria Gracilda AC and vice principal Sr Lenita Lobo AC. They were given a traditional welcome depicting Tulunadu culture and tradition by the students.
The programme began with the melodious opening chorus mesmerising the august gathering of parents and invited guests with their beautiful voices. The school principal Sr Maria Gracilda AC welcomed the invitees and guests thanking everyone for showing their love and affection with their gracious presence.
The programme continued with students creative and mesmerising dance performance of saluting the nation. A tableau on the life of Venerable Mother Veronica, the foundress of the Apostolic Carmel congregation was enacted by the students. The day being November 19 which is marked as the Establishment Day of the Apostolic Carmel congregation. The chief guest was honoured and privileged to unfurl the painting of Mother Veronica soaring high with the bunch of balloons which was the highlight of the ceremony marking the Bicentenary celebrations of the birth of Mother Veronica this year.
The spectacular moment then arrived with the students mesmerising drill and dance display which has carved a place in the minds of the spectators with the students’ excellent performance followed by honouring the students won in various sports events. The Winning house Aquitas were the overall champions this year.
Another important moment was the honouring of the co-curricular activities instructors who have been providing their excellent service in various fields such as karate, classical and folk dance, music, Art and craft etc. Their services were well recognised by the school and appreciated.
The chief guest in his speech appreciated the students for the excellent performance and expressed his deep sense of gratitude and honour to be a part of this spectacular programme. He also appreciated the teachers for their efforts in training these students. He congratulated the students who had won in various He urged the parents to see through their children take civil training and be government employees.
Ashwin too congratulated the students and also, he himself being a coach shared his thoughts by saying how hard it is to train till you are perfect. He too urged the necessity to join sports and excel in it.
The show stopper was the brilliant Karate display by students from grade I to X around 240 students. They truly mesmerised the audience with their brilliant moves under the training given by Neha and Ashok.
The programme came to a closure with singing the school anthem. The programme was compered by teachers Lavina and Vijetha. Teacher Chetana proposed the vote of thanks.
