Mangaluru: Vishwa Konkani Scholarship Awards distributed to students

Mangaluru, Dec 10: “The community has reached globally in terms of its achievements. No child should be deprived of food. Every student from the community should get an opportunity. And it is our responsibility too,” said T V Mohandas Pai.

He was speaking at the Vishwa Konkani Scholarship Awards 2022 function held at TV Raman Pai Hall here on Saturday, December, 10.

The programme was organised by the World Konkani Centre, chairman and board of trustees of Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskriti Prathistan and patrons Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Fund, World Konkani Centre, Mangaluru.

He also said that it is important for students to cultivate soft skills. “The students should be assets for the community, state, and the country. Try to give your best of your ability. In our span of life, we should try to achieve our dream. You, students, must be proud that you are Konkani. Being united can make wonders. Go ahead, dream and nurture your aspirations but do not forget your roots,” he said.

Scholarships were awarded to 515 students from the community.

Managing director Century Real Estate, Bengaluru Ravindra Pai, president Nandagopal Shenoy, treasurer B R Bhat, chief executive officer Gurudath Bantwalkar, secretary scholarship programme Pradeep G Pai, secretary Giridhar Kamath, president alumni association Karan Kini Karkala and other dignitaries were present.

The dignitaries awarded the scholarships to the students.
