Karkala, Dec 13: “Our health is in our hands. There is no need to panic regardless of the symptoms of illnesses. Instead of that we need to take precautions and protect our health,” said Stanley Fernandes, coordinator of Udupi Sparsha Sampada.He was speaking as the chief guest in the free medical and cancer camp held at Belman St Joseph’s Church auditorium under the aegis of India Cancer Society, Oracle organization, community medical division of KMC Manipal, Sparsha Sampada Udupi, Catholic Women’s Organization, Jnanodaya Maha Sangha and health wing of Catholic Sabha Belman.
Belman St Joseph Church parish priest Fr Fred Mascarenhas who presided over the programme said that health is important for human beings. “We should take precautions to maintain our health. Some of the food that we consume directly impacts our health. We should be careful while consuming such food. May the almighty God provide good health to all,” he said.
India Cancer Society and Oracle organization’s Shaila Lobo, community medical wing of KMC Manipal Dr Niveta and others were present as guests of honour.
