Mangalore, May 22:
As the cluster of instruments rose in crescendo at Vismay 2011, a Konkani musical nite dedicated to the victims of 2010 Air India crash, one got an impression that joy had won over pain, with music as a medium to express all emotions, enabling one to forget bitter memories at least momentarily and regain lost hopes.

The event was hosted by Team Exotica in association with Radio Sarang at Aloysius Degree College ground on Sunday May 22, 7 pm onwards.

Team Exotica, which was officially launched on the occasion, was formed by Mangaloreans Dafnal Jonas Concessao and Chris D'Souza.

Some of the singers deliberately sang in low-pitched notes to create an atmosphere that expressed sorrow and pain, moving the audience to tears, while others cheered up the audience by focussing on the brighter side of life. The crowd, which mostly comprised students, took to the dance floor whenever a peppy number was rendered by the singers.

Noted singers Rony D’Cunha, Kevin Misquith, Maxim Pereira, Ester Noronha, Dr Prashanth Raj, Robin Sequeira, Denora Fernandes, Zeena Pereira, among others touched hearts with melodious numbers.

To add to the entertainment, there was also a short skit staged on the occasion, together with some classy dance performances.

Fr Walter Albuquerque, Fr Swebert D’Silva, Walter D’Mello along with members of Team Exotica were present during the formal stage programme held earlier in the evening.

All the singers were honoured with mementoes by Fr Swebert D'Silva, principal of St Aloysius College.
