Mangaluru: Women entrepreneurship Expo programme held at St Joseph Seminary

Mangaluru, Dec 16: Women entrepreneurship Expo programme was held at St Joseph Seminary Centenary Memorial Hall, Jeppu on December 15. Felix Dsouza, the executive director of FVTRS, Bengaluru in his presidential address encouraged the women entrepreneurs to be creative and innovative in preparing their brand. He congratulated them for their courage and strenuous efforts to carry on the business. Jimmy Mathew, the lead executive of FVTRS appreciated the women who volunteered to exhibit their products. He gave some tips to further improve their business. Sathish Maben the DK District resource person 0f PMFME programme explained various Government schemes to initiate and improve the business. Dr Thomas Scaria, the director of Ecolink Institute applauded the women for taking initiatives to venture into small business enterprises. Sr Joel Lasrado the coordinator of Dharmajyothi Social Service Centre, Vamanjoor appreciated the move of FVTRS to reach out to the women in need by imparting EDP skills and to initiate small scale business enterprises.

Bedsy Joy, the project in charge of FVTRS, Nicholas CP the lead executive of project of FVTRS, Andrea Gonsalves the co-founder of Market Bird, Mangaluru, Sr Dona Sanctis, the superior of Bethany Convent, Bendur representing Sahodaya Scocial Service Centre, Bendur, Sr Leena Dsouza the representative of Spandana Trust, Jeppu were present on the dais and gave away the certificates to Women Entrepreneurs for attending two phases of EDP trainings conducted by FVTRS.

Clara DCunha, the field coordinator of FVTRS Mangaluru presented the brief report of Women entrepreneurs in Mangalore city area under four NGO’s such as Sahodaya, Spandana, Jeevandhara and Dharma Jyothi. Sr Leena DSouza, Sr Joel Lasrado, Sr Dona Sanctis and Sr Anna Maria BS were honoured by Mr Felix Dsouza the president of the programme for collaborating with FVTRS to carry on EDP activities for women in their respective areas. All the dignitaries on the dais were presented a token of women products as a mark of gratitude. Ms Meldina, Mamtaz, Shanthi and Savitha shared their experiences of involving in entrepreneurial activities. They expressed their gratitude to FVTRS for the provision made to attend the trainings and their continuous guidance.

Savitha, the representative from Dharmajyothi, Vamanjoor implored God’s blessings through prayer song. Sr Anna Maria, the secretary of Jevandhara Social Service Trust, Kulshekar welcomed the gathering. Victor Vas the coordinator of Spandana Social Welfare unit, Jeppu expressed words of gratitude to the eminent guests and the women entrepreneurs. Reena DSouza, the animator of Spandana Trust, compeered the day’s programme. Nearly 250 women along with social work coordinators and animators participated in the day’s programme. The products of 52 women were exhibited on the occasion. The refreshments and meals were served to the participants.
