Mangaluru Dec 18: The Santha Mother Theresa Vichara Vedike in association with the Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh, St Aloysius College and Samarasya Mangaluru organized ‘Sauhardha Christmas 2022’ here at Mother Theresa Peace Park on the SAC campus on Sunday December 18.

Bishop of Catholic diocese Belthangady Dr Lawrence Mukkuji inaugurated the Sauhardha Christmas by cutting the cake.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Lawrence Mukkuji said, "The Sauhardha Christmas was inaugurated by cutting the cake. We are all the loving children of God. Today the world is facing atrocities and people are dying in Ukraine, soldiers are losing their lives at the borders of India and China, while in other corners we are facing riots, murder, theft, rape and injustice. Problems will not be resolved with bullets and bombing but instead by spreading love towards people. Today we lack peace in the society as things have completely changed and people look at each other suspiciously. Why do we face so much difficulty these days in accepting people? An event like this will bring unity and harmony in the society."

Chancellor of Yenepoya University, Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi said, "Sauhardha Christmas is a meaningful program, I congratulate the organizers for conducting such programs. Christmas is not limited to Christians but to the whole mankind as it spreads love and happiness and eradicates hatred."

Prior to the formal function, carol singing, Christmas cake and star making competitions were held and prizes were distributed for the winners.

SYS district president Maulana U K Abdul Aziz Dharami, vice chairperson of Expert Group of Institutions Dr Usha Prabha N Nayak, chief of Bhramakumari Samaja Bhramakumari Vishweshwari, rector of St Aloysius College Fr Melwin Pinto, principal of St Aloysius College Dr Praveen Martis, PRO of Mangalore Diocese Fr J B Saldanha, president of Santha Mother Theresa Vichara Vedike Roy Castelino, general secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal, treasurer Kishore Fernandes, former mayor Ashraf, social worker Rita Noronha and others were present.

This type of hate statements only create rift in the society. You need to grow up a lot. My bro please note the followings. 1.Our society is inter dependent. Our christians grow jasmine and their main customers are hindus. 2.Muslim community install pendals and their customers are mainly hindus. 3.Hindu friends and neighbours invite us for their functions, we attend. 4.Muslims brothers help all in need during road accidents irrespective of whoever is the victim. 5.RSS cadre are seen helping and rescuing people during floods and other natural calamities, they are hindus. In spite of all these, why do you want to say that only Christians do ......
