Mangaluru: BD, VHP appeal police commissioner not to allow New Year celebrations

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Dec 19: An appeal was submitted to city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar by Bajrang Dal (BD) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) urging him not to give permission for programmes involving indecent dances, narcotic drugs and alcohol in the name of celebrating New Year’s Eve on December 31.

In the appeal that is submitted it is said, “Bajrang Dal vehemently opposes the parties that take place in the name of New Year as they are based on Western culture. Already, girls are fooled in the name of love jihad and they are incited to participate in programmes like this.

“There are possibilities of drugs and sex mafia widening their network because of these parties. Action should be taken to close all bar and pubs within specified time,” stated the appeal.

Hello B.S. Rai, In your Comment you mentioned Mangalore is a unsafe city, Prevention is better than cure, don't blame the law later. Do you think do not blame the law makes any sense?? Its a duty of the government to bring implement Law and order in the state and put culprits behind bars. If we should not blame the Law which is currently out of control then why vote such govt to power who cannot bring it under control. Everyone has the right to celebrate, if its the law that is out of control, then the law should be stricter not ban celebrations.

Yes, I agree with some of the comments about western culture. Electricity, flight, motor car, dinning table etc. are all came from western countries. Can BD, VHS members live without these. Still our law books are in English, Medical and Engineering education is in English. Why can't they make in Indian languages - Hindi, sanskrith or reginal languages. If they succeed in making this, then there is point in stopping western system entering Hindustan. Otherwise - BD, VHS members talking from the Toddy shop and talking toddy talk (Surai Gazali).

Law agencies have to obey dictats of BD, CD or DB of BJP .

The problem is , we have a weak set of opposition leaders. Nobody takes them seriously. Imagine, will any of our leaders confront this? No way!. At the max , we can expect a press conference blaming BD , followed by the usual internet lions bashing BJP or Modi for day , thats that. The best option in these circumstances is to celebrate privately , Group 0f 5-10 houses celebrating in a big compound. Thats what we are doing.

Given the current situation in Mangalore, I feel , celebrations should be allowed only in private residences or compounds. I think this will be the new normal. Police permission should be taken first with a cut of time of 12AM. Moreover Congress leaders and supporters were dumb when the Pressure cooker incident happened. No right to preach now, especially on security. Hypocricy.

Mangalore is no longer the Mangalore we know about. In the past one decade there has been a drastic change. Its more of a mix now. Keralites have settled down in thousands. Labourers from North India are coming in hundreds every week in search of jobs and scattered everywhere. Illelgal Bangalis too are large in number calling themselves as 'kolkatta' . All this has given way for crime and suspicion. Local elements use services of these 'outsiders' to avoid getting caught. Earlier it was sleeper cell for Terrorist , but now its become a target. So I would not be surprised if the Police accept the offer of Bajrang Dal . Security comes first.

Whoever it is, when they are out of their senses due to alcohol or drug abuse, they utter xhit s and get into trouble. Eventually beaten up by some of their own people at the party. Drink and drive too happens and meet with accident , injury and even death. Then they blame the law and the Govt. So its an appropriate step to curtail these celebrations. A time limit lets say , nothing beyond 9PM is apt. Lets all leave peacefully.

Where are these dictats where boys & girls do dhandiya on garbha in any part of the nation? Whatever these hypocrites want others to follow but they never do & all the above things take place during garbha too, do they dare to stop it too or fold their tails in between their legs? In our country there is freedom of celebration to all the people without disturbing others which no authority can take away. Commercial Celebrations in the name of any religious festivals have nothing to do with culture or practice of us. Either you do it or don't do it & nobody is forcing anybody to follow these commercial extravaganzas.

Go in fancy cars and bikes funded by the mafia. If you follow your religion, keep it to yourself. Don't go abroad to work. Be a servant in your own country. Again smoke beedis instead of cigarettes and drink country instead of branded alcohol and beer.

This is akin to Iranian fatwa... We are in a democratic nation... Whims and fancies of a few people cannot form the rule of law... New year is an event that is followed in almost all places on this planet... Every person has a right to welcome the new year and thank God... How people celebrate can be questioned if offensive to unconnected people around... Thease BD/VHP guys must go to Nityananda's Kailasa where they may find better introspection...
