Another Mangalorean Excels: Vanessa Fernandes Tops CBSE in Doha

Daijiworld Media Network - Doha

Doha, May 24 : Another Mangaloren student in the Gulf has excelled in this year's CBSE class XII exams, this time from Doha.

Vanessa Fernandes of Birla Public School, Doha has clinched the top position in commerce stream with 96% percent.

Vanessa is the daughter of Henry and Veronica Fernandes, hailing from Karkala.

Vanessa scored 100 in business studies, and 95 each in English, economics, maths and accountancy.

Speaking to Daijiworld from Doha, Vanessa says she aims to pursue business administration (finance) from Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, and her dream is to become a financial analyst.

"I am very ecstatic on being the commerce topper in Qatar and especially because my hard work has paid off. I am thankful to the Almighty for showering his choicest blessings on me and also grateful to my parents for constantly encouraging and motivating me. A major part of the credit also goes to all my teachers who always supported me. I am indeed very proud to be a student of Birla Public School, Qatar."

When Daijiworld contacted her parents, they said, "Vanessa has always been a wonderful child – hard working and fullly focussed on everything she does. We are very proud of her and we pray that she continues to perform in the same way in all her future endeavours.  Her dedication and hard work has paid off today ."

Dear Vanessa in Christ, we are proud of you. Please pray and go ahead in your life, surely Jesus and Mother will bless you.

    Come, Holy Spirit, Divine Creator,
true source of light and fountain of wisdom!
Pour forth your brilliance upon my dense intellect,
dissipate the darkness which covers me,
that of sin and of ignorance.
Grant me a penetrating mind to understand,
    a retentive memory,
    method and ease in learning,
    the lucidity to comprehend,
and abundant grace in expressing myself.
Guide the beginning of my work,
    direct its progress,
and bring it to successful completion.
This I ask through Jesus Christ,
    true God and true man,
    living and reigning with You
and the Father, forever and ever, Amen.
