Mangaluru, Dec 20: ABVP members gheraoed the administrative office of Mangalore University condemning the delay in declaring the results of degree examinations. In addition, they also tried to barge into the syndicate meeting that was being held at the administrative office. However, police foiled their attempt.

Speaking at the protest, Harshith Koyla, convener of Mangaluru division of ABVP, said, “Mangalore University is torturing students of degree and post graduate courses without giving marks cards on time. As the marks cards are not given on time, the students are unable to apply for scholarship. Evaluation of answer papers of examination is also not done on time. In addition, the university is toying with the students who joined first year after the NEP was implemented by not publishing the results of first and second year, though all the students are studying in second year now. The vice-chancellor and registrar of evaluation of the university are responsible for all these issues.”

Registrar of evaluation Prof P L Dharma, who got emotional due to the accusation of the students that he is responsible for the chaos, said, “Students are holding protest and are asking my resignation for the delay in the declaration of results. If my resignation resolves the issue, I am ready to quit.

“Students have not understood the reality. My staff have not even taken one day of casual leave and are working continuously. We are facing issues because of UCMS. The server is not working properly. I am not speaking against the government but the system. The university has helped the students on the contrary. I can assure that within January 25, 2023 all results will be announced,” he said.

On the assurance of registration evaluation, the protesters called off their strike.

ABVP district organizing secretary Sachin Kulageri, taluk convener Adarsh Uppara and district convener Shreyas Shetty were present.

Respected all (whoever is concerned) A humble request to you to please convince the government to restore the distance education program for poat graduation at Mangalore University. (Although I am done with my PG exams, I request for the students who are willing to pursue higher studies). Working people across the DK district and Udupi we're relying on these courses for higher education. Speaking of faculty, my due respect for them as I never overcame any grumpy-faced person on campus from 2010 to my recent visit in October 2022. They are all working hard. I am too waiting for my PG result. Let's give them some time. As a teacher, it is my kind request to all there, our hard work will never go in vain.

Dear ABVP members, Faculty of the Mangalore university are very good and responsible. They are helpless because of the corruption of the BJP government (Minister of School Education and Literacy & Sakala ) Government is not providing university good facilities like systems and servers. Why don't you protest with your chailwala and party for not helping the university.
