The MCC must be joking. Every street corner is plastered with flex banners showing the photographs of all the local politicians including Vedvyas Kamath who has an office in the corporation office itself. Apart from this the streets across the city are littered with rubbish/ rubble and overgrown with weeds/ wild plants. Roads and pavements have been dug up everywhere and then left unsurfaced. GAIL is a major culprit. They have left behind a trail of broken roads and pavements. On Kadri Kambala road they have put cement markers, to mark the location of their pipes, on the side of the road where it meets the pavement. These markers are proving to be a danger for vehicles, when they try to park on the side of the road. Some of these markers are already broken. Road signs damaged or broken in accidents are never replaced. Street lights go out of order and are never repaired.. Black spots filled with garbage, overflowing sewage are raising a stink across the city. The Mangaluru City Corporation is on a despicable condition.

It has been notice that there are large scale plastic consumption of single use plastic in mass dinners and tea parties that are conducted for weddings and many many other public functions where SUP played, cups, spoons and forks are used and they are very very carelessly thrown away.this has to be taken care of for example when using water tumbler first you can serve water in that then lassi can be given after that and also be used along with paisa finally resulting in a3 fold reduction of waste

Bengalureans are slowely learning to live without single use plastic, yes there are few items like milk sachet which use plastics But I understand they are now packed in degradeable plastics. There is no harm in implementing such s good policy in a highly educated districts of Dakishna Kannada and Udupi

How will the government stop prepackaged food items like loaves of bread, plantains sold in bunches in bags in the grocery stores, and all sorts of foods which amount far more than single use plastic bags carried by shoppers. Often these bags can be used to package other goods, including waste for disposal along with the bags. Large Garbage in plastic bags is allowed and they are much bigger in size than small quantities of food which are sold in groceries. Will the milk sold in plastic bags be okay; how else will you pack milk other than glass bottles or plastic bottles? Government should use brain its head, not in the bottom outlet. Gandinth mendu?

Instead of putting pressure on the vendors/ business by the ban on single use plastic, government has to order all the shopping malls & other petty shops to give biodegradable plastics for free. Due to this single use plastic bags ban, the malls are making extra money selling paper bags and cloth bags in return pressurising the customer. Before all this, the malls use to give away carry bags for free.

Very good move. How brilliant our management is!! First you should stop manufacturing banned items. It is just like arresting drug consumers not sellers.

How many more times will you release these orders when vendors are openly using third rate recycled plastic bags even for food items even in medium sized restaurants???
