New Delhi, May 24 (IANS) The Canadian pilot of a private air charter company who was about to operate a flight to Nagpur carrying Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Gadkari was arrested Tuesday after a bullet was found in his baggage. He was later released on a bail bond of Rs.20,000, police said.
"The accused was produced in the court in the afternoon and the judge released him on a bail bond of Rs. 20,000. He has been booked under the Arms Act," a senior police officer told IANS.
Raphael Jose Hubbard, a pilot of Aero Air charter company was arrested at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Indira Gandhi International Airport after the Central Industry Security Force (CISF) recovered a 7.62 mm bullet in his luggage at the domestic terminal of the airport, said police.
"The live cartridge was detected in his baggage during the security check at the general aviation lounge of terminal 1D," CISF spokesperson Rohit Katiyar told IANS.
