Kaup, Dec 24: A stranger in a gang of four people arrived at Mahalasa Traders milk booth that is on the main road of the town asking for milk and stole Rs six lac kept in a scooter by the owner of the milk vending booth Raghavendra Kini. This incident occurred on Thursday night as Kini was getting ready to go home after locking the shop.

According to details, four strangers arrived at the milk vending shop and stopped at a distance. One among them came and asked for packet of milk. Others punctured the tyre of the scooter of owner Kini, used the key and removed Rs six lac kept in the vanity bag that was kept beneath the seat.

When Kini arrived near the scooter after locking the shop, he came to know that the bag is missing. He immediately went to Kaup police station and raised a complaint.

Finger print experts and canine squad inspected the shop on the Friday December 23. It is said that police have got some clues from the CCTV footage of nearby shops.

Raghavendra Kini, his wife and brother are involved in the milk business. Every day after closing the shop, they used to take the cash home and deposit the same to bank the next day. However, from three days they could not go to bank for some reason or the other. Usually Kini used to keep the cash in the laptop bag and hang the same on his shoulders. Unfortunately, on Thursday he had kept the cash in vanity bag and placed it under the seat in his scooter. It is said that people who have observed his movements are involved in the theft.

We are in a world of schemers.. Both real and virtual... Always we must remember that we are watched... There will be people dedicated for surveillance prior to any criminal act... One slip of thought by Mr. Kini was enough for the culprits... They will be caught eventually... But 6 lakhs may become few thousands...
