Mangaluru, Dec 25: Prohibitory orders have been clamped under Section 144 by the city police in areas of Surathkal, Bajpe, Kavooru and Panamburu from 6 am on Sunday, December 25 to 6 am on Tuesday, December 27 following the murder of a youth Jaleel by miscreants in Surathkal on Saturday evening.

City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar has also ordered a ban on sale of liquor in these areas for the same period.

Besides, the city police chief, has in an order, also announced curbs in running of industries in these areas on December 25 and December 26 to maintain law and order. As per the order, workers of industrial, business and commercial establishments have been ordered to close shop before 6 pm on Sunday and Monday while also restricting the movement of personnel between 6 pm and 6 am of the following day.

It may be recalled that on Saturday evening, miscreants had stabbed businessman Jaleel in Krishnapura of Surathkal who passed away after battling for his life. The youth succumbed to his injuries in the night at a hospital. Jaleel was attacked by miscreants while he was standing in front of a shop. Unconfirmed reports say that he was attacked n front of the shop that he owned.

    very sad to hear this that everyday violence and muders , speically in mangalore . once mangalore was known for peace and harmony place . but now people are scared to go out and even to celebrate festival.
