Ahmednagar: RPI(A) Prez Athavale says Alliance with Sena Justified

Ahmednagar, May 26 (PTI) RPI(A) President Ramdas Athavale today said his move of forging an alliance with Shiv Sena and BJP was justified.

"If Sharad Pawar and his NCP could shake hands with the Congress despite ideological differences for power. Then what's wrong in shaking hands with the alliance of Shivsena and BJP," Athavale told PTI.

He said some leaders of Congress and NCP were blaming him over political opportunism adding that dalits in the state have realised that they are being used by the Congress and NCP for the sake of votes.

Athavale said his party has been equivocally supporting Anna Hazare, and not Baba Ramdev, in his mission against corruption.
