Ahmednagar: Social Activist Rajnikant Arole Dies at 78


Ahmednagar, May 26 (PTI) Social activist and Magsaysay award winner Dr Rajnikant Arole died of old age related ailments tonight, his family said.

Arole, a Padmabhushan awardee, was 78.

He is survived by a son and a daughter.

He was admitted to Poona Hospital in Pune for problems in nervous system two days ago. The veteran social worker took his last breath at 10.10 PM, his daughter Shobha told PTI.

Arole was the founder president of Maharashtra Social Forum, a popular NGO network in Maharashtra.

His funeral will take place at 3 PM at Jamkhed, 60 kms from here.
