Mumbai, May 26: The natives of coastal district settled in the metro enliven the tradition and religious practice of Tulunadu. The grace of Goddess Umamaheshwari are upon them at all times, since the Goddess is succour of downtrodden and sustain the faith.  Meanwhile, the re-installation ceremony of temple deity and Brahmakalashotsav are essential in this regard, said Swami Vishveshateertha Swamiji of Pejavar mutt, Udupi.

Swami Vishveshateertha was speaking at the religious discourse held on the occasion of Brahmakalashotsav at Umamaheshwari temple, Jerimeri here on Wednesday May 25.

Swami Vishveshateerta felicitated Umamaheshwari temple managing trustee B K Sheena and Lalitha Sheena Poojary during the programme.

Swami Vishveshateerta after inaugurating the stage programme said that temples are the fortresses of Hinduism, while the daily worship in temples protect the nation from evils and natural calamities.  Sheena Poojary has been an enlightened devotee who strives to serve the people through organizing divine service at Umamaheshwari temple, said Swami Vishveshateertha.

Powai Mahashesha Rundamalini temple Panchakuteera religious leader Suvarna Baba and Vedamurti Jarkala Narayan Tantri also delivered religious discourse on the occasion.

All India Billava Federation president Jaya C Suvarna and BSKBA president Dr Suresh S Rao Kateel were the chief guests.

Jaya C Suvarna said that although Sheena is blind, he is a true devotee in the world, since he had committed himself for the welfare of society.

Dr Suresh Rao said that it’s fortunate for Sheena to build the temple.  It’s advisable to offer puja at the temples for mental peace and wellbeing. It’s indeed Indian cultural hierarchy.

Astrologer R L Bhat welcomed the gathering and compered the programme.  Journalist Srinivas Jokatte read the felicitation letter on Sheena couple. Chief priest Srinivas N Udupa proposed the vote of thanks.

Sarita, Nisha and Nikhita B Sheena were also present who were presented with sacred offerings.

Anni C Shetty, Ramesh M Poojary Nerul, Karnoor Mohan Rai, Sudhakar Poojary Powai, lawyer Ravi Kotian Bandra and others were also present.

Brahmakalashotsav and various puja were performed by Vedamurti Jarkala Narayan Tantri and Srinivas N Udupa on Wednesday morning.
