Udupi, Dec 28: Police arrested an accused in Manipal after a raid near R S B Bhavan on charges of carrying ganja and on getting definite tip-off of storing the banned substance.

The accused is identified as Iqbal (32), a resident of Saralabettu High Point Residency in Manipal.

The police have recovered 41 grams of ganja, 1.3 MDMA tablets, two mobile phone handsets besides a scooter valued at about Rs 38,810 from the accused.

The Manipal police have registered a case in this connection and additional information is being gathered.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of SP Akshay Machindra Hakay and a team led by Additional SP Siddalingappa which included DySP Dinakar K P, Manipal police inspector Devaraj T V, PSIs Abdul Qadar, Nidhi, Udupi assistant drugs controller Shankar Nayak, V A Pramod Kumar, Guruprasad and police staff ASI Shailesh Kumar, head constable Imran Santhosh, Suresh Kumar, constables Arun Kumar, Anandaiah, Chinnesh, Manjunath and Sudeep.
