Sullia: Police track down two missing women, reunite one with family

Sullia, Dec 29: Police have successfully tracked down two women hailing from Sampaje who had gone missing a few months back.

Missing complaints were filed with the Sullia police by the families of the women. Police began their search and gathered information about their whereabouts in the district and all over the state.

The search operation was successful as they could find Mahalakshmi in Beltangady and Nagaveni from Pune in Maharashtra.

Mahalakshmi had joined a rubber tapping farm for work in Beltangady according to information gathered by the police who brought her back to Sullia. Her family members were then called to the police station and then sent home with her family.

On the other hand, Nagaveni had settled down with her lover and husband in Pune, Maharashtra as per information gathered by the Sullia police. When Nagaveni was questioned and asked to come to Sullia police station with her husband, Nagaveni refused. She insisted that she would continue to live in Pune with her husband and refused to travel to Sullia as per the information gathered by the police.

The search operation was conducted by a team under the leadership of sub-inspector Dilip.
