Udupi district police issues guidelines for New Year celebration

Udupi, Dec 29: The district police department issued a statement on Thursday December 29 giving guidelines for New Year celebration to protect law and order.

Additional officers and staffs have been deployed for bandobust duties from police department. From the night on December 31 till January 1, 2023 at 1 am, during New Year celebration, all organisers and public are instructed to strictly follow instructions related to Covid 19 pandemic.

All New Year celebrations should conclude before 1 am on January 1, 2023. Indoor area functions at pubs/restaurants/clubs/resorts should be conducted within its capacity. All safety measures regarding fire incidents should be ensured. Event organizers should depute volunteers, male and female security staff to ensure safety at New Year function places.

Organisers of Hotel, pubs, restaurants, home stays etc should make proper parking arrangements at their function places. No vehicles should be parked on public roads causing traffic problems and accidents. Organizers or public are not allowed to conduct New Year functions at bus stand, railway station, beaches, roads, footpath, and garden.

Strict action will be taken against those persons who consume alcohol at public places and also those who misbehave with public under the influence of alcohol.

Loud speakers should be used within its limit without causing noise pollution.

All precautionary measures to be taken by organizers that no nuisance to neighbours especially to the patients admitted in the hospital, senior citizens residing in apartment, students studying in hostels, houses etc.

Drink and drive, rash and negligence cases will be booked against drivers driving under the influence of alcohol.

Organisers of hotels, pubs, restaurants, homestays etc should inform the local police before conducting New Year events at their places.
