Udupi: Strict rules for tourist vehicles in Kerala – Karnataka buses suffer losses

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Dec 31: Tourists buses from Karnataka are not venturing into Kerala as strict rules are implemented in the state for tourist vehicles since two months.

According to rules in Kerala, tourist buses should be painted in white or yellowish white colour. However, 90% of the buses in Karnataka have their own colour. In addition, tourist buses of Karnataka have additional lights on the outer body. Flickering lights along with DJ music sound is causing accidents. That is why Kerala has come up with strict rules for tourist buses.

The tourist bus operators of Karnataka are not taking any chances and they do not venture into Kerala. Some have made arrangements with buses in Kerala to take passengers from Kerala border to the destination. Some buses of Karnataka are already fined Rs 5,000 in Kerala.

Bus alteration market in Tamil Nadu and Kerala is hit hard by the new rules of Kerala state government. Most of the alterations on tourist buses is done in Tamil Nadu and Kerala as the equipment use for beautifying the vehicle is much cheaper in those states. However, with the new strict rule in Kerala, the bus alternation business has suffered huge losses.

In October 2022, five school children and nine others died on Valayar-Vadakancherry road while a tourist bus collided with a government bus. More than 20 were seriously injured. After this accident, Kerala government has taken strict action on tourist buses with colour coding and other rules.

it is better not to enter indo-somalia... stop at the border and make u-turn... whoever wants to enter into indo-somalia, let them take another transport and continue their journey into indo-somalia... they are creating so much nuisance here, one can imagine how much more nuisance and problematic they would be in their own country...

In Kerala, vehicle accidents frequently occur due to the presence of blind spots on narrow and poorly designed roads, as well as inadequate lighting on the streets. Additionally, the practice of local buses stopping on the road and the presence of cows and other animals on the road can also contribute to accidents. To help prevent these incidents, it's important to be aware of these hazards and take extra caution when driving on these types of roads. Be particularly vigilant when driving in areas where cows and other animals may be present, as they can be difficult to spot and may move unexpectedly.

real kujuma, kodial, You don't need VISA to cross border which is just 20 KM away. You are free to migrate to corruption-nil state and lead happy life there. If you are not happy there, you can come back to karu nadu.

real kujuma, kodial , From your all previous comments in this forum, it is very clear that you have a discriminatory and hatred mindset against particular religion/group/govt. If the particular party that you like starts ruling here, your mindset will change about karu nadu. World will not change to suit your wish, rather it is you need to change. My clan is good in tapping toddy and eating pork which they do for livelihood and by doing so they lead respectful life in society. We use COOKER only for preparing rice, chicken, idli, pork, not to kill someone's life.
