Mangalore, May 27: "In this fast changing world where nothing is permanent, it is very rare to see young and energetic youth committing their life to the service of God and His Church. I congratulate you and thank your parents who have sacrificed their sons for the greater cause of the Church," said Fr Archibald Gonsalves, Provincial Superior of the Carmelites.

He was speaking at the final Profession of eight young men at Infant Jesus Shrine on Friday 27 May, here. Fr Gonsalves officiated at the Eucharist and accepted their Profession.

Final Profession is a public acceptance of the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience for life. With this a member of the religious order sacrifices the very things which a human heart craves for and gets ready to serve humanity.

The eight young men are Br Anil Prashanth Lobo, son of Joachim and Benedicta Lobo, Ujire, Br Arun Sunil Lobo, son of the late Albert and Helen Lobo, Agrar, Br Ivo Dias, son of Dominic and Rosy Dias, Goa, Br Pradeep Pinto, son of Valerian and Rita Pinto, Ujire, Br Rajesh D’Souza, son of Saturnin and  Florine D’Souza, Madanthyar, Br Roshan Denzil Veigas, son of Basil and Letitia Beigas, Vamanjoor, and Br Vijay Kiran D’Coasta, son of Francis and Veronica D’Coasta, Badyar.

“Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.”

Let us pray, " Lord Jesus Christ, take all my freedom,
my memory, my understanding, and my will.
All that I have and cherish You have given me.
I surrender it all to be guided by Your will.
Your love and Your grace are wealth enough for me.
    Give me these, Lord Jesus,
I ask for nothing more. Amen."

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE DEVOUT AND ENERGETIC YOUNG MEN WHO HAVE DEDICATED THEMSELVES TO BE WITH THE LORD.

To sincerely dedicate oneself in the service of the Lord, is a challenging task in the modern world. How happy and proud those parents might be to see their YOUNG ONES preaching and celebrating the WORD OF THE LORD. Though this blessing has come from the DIVINE above, the credit goes to the parents who are nothing less the Divine in motivating these young ones to become what they are today. That is why a Vocation is a 'VOCATION' not a 'profession'. A profession pronounces 'what Iam ' and a Vocation pronounces 'who Iam.' When the modern generation today is busy in answering the the 'first', these young ones are out to answer the 'second'. Not far away those are when in the near future people will long to witness an Ordinatio or a Religious Profession.

CONGRATULATIONS PARENTS, DEAR AND NEAR ONES OF ALL THE PROFESSED BROTHERS. MAY THERE BE MANY LABOURERS IN THE LORD'S VINEYARD.

In he present day scenario where young men go after lucrative jobs and professionalism, it is good to see a few dedicating themselves to the service of God and The People.

These seminarians after intensive studies are abandoning the pleasures of the world to follow their higher values in life. A FEW DEDICATED PEOPLE LIKE THESE CAN INDEED CHANGE THE PRESENT DAY THINKING. It is these young priests who lay the foundations to bring the best out of other people.

There would not have been priests today had it not been for the good example and selfless sacrifices of their parents. Therefore before saying kudos the young priests, I would congratulate the parents for giving their sons to the service of God and humanity.

Dear Fathers I join scores of people in wishing you well. Carmelite Fathers have a great name all over the world and here we are fortunate in having Father Archibald Gonsalves to lead us.

    save it". Luke 9:23,24.

Congrats to all eight brothers for your renouncement. In a materialistic world and world of attractions,it is not only huge sacrifice but commitment. Idea is attachment to worldly riches does not make closer to God (poverty).

You all are in good hands as we really appreciate carmelite missionary zeal all around the world including Calgary, Canada.

    God bless us all.

I would like to congratulate the eight young Carmelites on their final Profession at Infant Jesus Shrine on Friday 27 May.
Fr Archibald Gonsalves, Provincial Superior of the Carmelites is right, we live in a fast changing world where nothing is permanent.
It is astonishing to see 8 young men committing their life to the service of God.
You have taken a final decision and you will serve God and doing good deeds for the poor.
It is a lifelong commitment. The young Carmelites have a strong belief and a meaning of life.
Their final Profession is a public acceptance of the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience for life.
In our globalised world is it difficult to understand that young men choose such a way but for believers is it an encouragement to realise that GOD calls young men and women to join a religious order to serve in the educational or social field.
Even for members of religious orders everyday life can be boring and full of routine but they have their faith, go to church, pray and worship, read The Bible.
That is essential for their life.
I wish the young Carmelites joy and happiness, energy and power to dedicate their life to the poor.
They shall defend the right and dignity of every human being to be a God’s child, God’s image and to enable the poorest of the poor to live in peace and harmony with oneself and with others.
I wish you the best for your priestly life.

    Best regards

    Kurt Waschnig Oldenburg Germany
