Bantwal: Mortal remains of 36-year-old found in Netravati river

Bantwal, Jan 12: the mortal remains of a youth were found in Netravati river near old bridge of Panemangalore on Thursday January 12.

The deceased is identified as Rajesh Poojary Sthanamane (36), a resident of Sajipa in the taluk.

A two wheeler was found fallen on the old Panemangalore bridge on Thursday morning. Public who noticed the scooter called the police station. Police arrived on the spot and called fire service personnel. When fire service personnel and local diving experts searched in the river, they found the mortal remains of Rajesh Poojary.

Diving expert of Goodinabali Iqbal, Mohammed, Harris and Ibrahim K helped in search operation and brought the body out from water.

It is suspected that Rajesh Poojary must have met with accident on Wednesday night as he was moving on the bridge and thrown into the river.

Bantwal city police are investigating further.
