Nagpur, May 31 (PTI) As many as six cars, loaded in a trailer, and 35 motorcycles parked near it, were gutted when the heavy vehicle caught fire and exploded in Pardi area on the outskirts of the city, police said today.
According to police, the trailer had brought new cars to a local showroom from Gurgaon yesterday and was waiting for the vehicles to be unloaded when, suddenly, bystanders spotted smoke billowing from it.
The vehicle was soon engulfed in flames as the fire spread rapidly, officials said.
The diesel tank of the trailer caught fire and exploded and soon, fire spread around the trailer and 35 bikes parked near it were also engulfed, they said
Six cars inside the trailer were completely gutted as the doors of the trailer could not be opened due to the fire and heat, they added.
