Mangaluru: Pacchanady dump yard fire – Disaster management team visits site

Mangaluru, Jan 14: A team from the district disaster management authority visited the Pacchanady dump yard in the city to investigate the fire mishap that occurred a few days ago.

The team visited the site according to the instructions given by deputy commissioner Ravikumar. It assessed the reason for the mishap, solution for the issue and steps to prevent recurrence.

The disaster management team will submit a report on water storage tank, CC camera, development of connection road and daily availability of Hitachi and tankers.

The operation to contain the smoke billowing out of the garbage continued on Friday also. Mayor Jayanand Anchan and commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation Akshay Sridhar also visited the spot.

    Pacchanady dump yard is absolutely the mis management of Mangaluru Municipal Corporation and the BJP GOVERNMENT. City is rapidly developing with new infrastructure with Municipal Corporation approval but MMC doesn't build waste disposal plant!!!??? STRANGE??? Corrupt practices of approval whereas not building the required WASTE DISPOSAL PLANT.

    AAP Government only can solve this problems. In Delhi BJP made garbage stock for 15 years, and when AAP took Delhi MCD, they cleared in 15 days. Wonder.

    This garbage dump is a nuisance and serious health hazard in the midst of so many people living in proximity to it! Serious efforts should be made to find a permanent solution to this nuisance!!
