Bantwal: SDPI, Adyar – Arkula Village Committee Distributes Free Notebooks

Bantwal, May 31: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Adyar – Arkula village committee organized free distribution of books and stationery to the poor students in the neighbourhood here, recently.

In his inaugural address, SDPI Dakshina Kannada (DK) district president Jaleel said that the practice of rich making the slaves out of poor children is still prevailing in the country.  All political parties in their quest for power only arrive at the doorsteps of voters whenever the elections come by.  However, SDPI is striving for hunger and fear free India, he said.

In his chief guest's address DK district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura emphasized on equality in education to make rapid strides in every sphere. 

Another chief guest, litterateur Mohammed Baddoor stressing on the need for knowledge said that it was the hunger of knowledge that made Prophet Mohammed, who though illiterate, preached Holy Quran across the world. So is Valmiki, the author of Ramayan who introduced Ramayana to the world through narration, he added.

Young entrepreneur Abdul Rehman Adyar sponsored a year's study expenses of a poor student studying in a pre-university college.

Meramajal parish priest Fr Cyril Pinto, Adyar village committee SDPI president Mohammed Valacchil, and SDPI Arkula unit president Abdul Samad were present on the dais.

Free books were distributed to 75 poor students on the occasion.

Yaseen Arkula welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks. Khader Amemar compered the programme.
