Puttur: 23-year-old girl stabbed to death; suspicion on spurned lover

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Jan 17: A 23-year-old girl was stabbed to death allegedly by her spurned lover on January 17.

Jayashree (23), daughter of Girija, a resident of Mundoor here was staying at home after passing her B Sc degree. Girija had gone out to her farm at about 11 am on January 17.

Meanwhile, Jayashree who was at home came running to Girija screaming at about 11.30 am. There was a cut on her stomach and blood was oozing from the wound.

Girija rushed Jayashree in an auto rickshaw to Puttur Government Hospital. The doctor examined her at about 12.15 pm and said that Jayashree had died.

Kanakamajalu resident Umesh was in love with Jayashree for some time and used to visit the house of Girija every now and then. However as Jayashree was not liking Umesh's character of late days, she had distanced from him since November 2022.

An identified person allegedly entered the house of Girija at about 11.30 am on January 17, 2023 when Girija was away and stabbed Jayashree to death. It is suspected that Umesh may have murdered her.

A case under registration No. 07/2023 IPS section 448 and 302 is registered in this connection at Puttur rural police station on the basis of a complaint lodged by Girija.

Girls/ladies, when we go through such heinous/horrible happenings here, please stop looking at the male gender...forget smiling and loving....just dont look at them... murdering/throwing acids/raping/making the girls to commit suicide has become a fashion now. ಯಾವ ಹುತ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಹಾವು ಅಡಗಿದೆಯೋ ಯಾರೂ ಅರಿಯರು. So, your safety is in your hands only...Once these murderers are caught, they will be out on bail easily. One thing is really true after BJP govt started administering, such things are increased drastically....

Women pray more. Thats why evil attackers are more. Instead of concentrating on more prayers, should concentrate on more safety measures and should be alert to re counter back instead of saying mana mana prayers....All should carry guntur or baari munchi chilli powder to splash rappaaa on their face...
