Shivamogga: PM Modi suggested maintaining good relationships with Muslims – Yediyurappa

Daijiworld Media Network – Shivamogga

Shivamogga, Jan 19: Former chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had advised BJP leaders to make prompt efforts to take Muslims into confidence.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Yediyurappa said Modi spoke for about an hour-and-a-half in the party’s national executive meeting in New Delhi.

The former CM said that PM Modi has suggested maintaining good relationships with Muslims. “Anyhow, we already have a good rapport with Muslims. They respect us and we have confidence in them. In the coming days, we will try to contact them more as per the prime minister’s advice,” he said.

Yediyurappa further said that Prime Minister Modi offered guidance on strategies to face the coming elections. “There was a fruitful discussion. We have come back with our spirits lifted. We have to strengthen the party organisation and come back to power,” he said.

Yediyurappa also said that PM Modi will inaugurate the airport in Shivamogga in all probability on February 27.

Note Yediyurappa’s words. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had advised BJP leaders to make prompt efforts to take Muslims into confidence.” So the party admits that they are not treating the Muslims well. Modi must have told Yedi and party leaders to treat them well at least until the election is over. That’s the way to bring them into confidence.

Mr. Yediyurappa has always been a tolerant leader as Atal Ji, Pramod Mahajanji, Sushma Ji etc. I think Muslims would not have had any issues with BJP had the current breed of leaders followed their peers.

C'mon dears! You will not get a PM like him for more than 100 years who treats his subjects like his children. For him all are equal. Not like other party leaders for whom, some communities are more than equal and treasure as vote banks! The kind of work the BJP has done for the Muslim community is unmatched! Abolishing Triple T! Muslim women vote for Modi only. So BJP won in UP. So a little Muslim men angry. That's all. BSY given charge here. So all clear??

Simon. Its nothing new. The results in Gujarat reflects the fact, BJP won by huge margins in minority dominated places as well. So the support was always there. As always we have been taken for a ride by joining forces to fight a common enemy and at last we are left alone. I dont want to dig further. At the moment we have options, so its no big deal.

Damage to social fabric is already more grave than cracks in Joshimatt... You never had rapport with minorities and you have to admit your atrocities... you can not undo what is already done... But you can seek forgiveness holistically and reconciliation... Simply talking will not be enough anymore... How will you reverse the mindsets of your lowest cadres which were vehemently narrowed/poisoned by your own stalwart leaders???!!!...

When our own religion is criticized, we think the other person is a fundamentalist. If a person criticizes his own religion, then he is a liberal and open minded. If a person criticizes or even debates about a particular religion his tongue/hand is cut off or is sent to the gallows. Everybody thinks his own religion is the greatest ..out of his ego .. The real owner of true religion (God) never speaks a single word or has no ego that true religion belongs only to him. We humans have completely misidentified and misplaced ourselves.
