Kundapur: Insulator vehicle rams into stationary Tata Ace, driver seriously injured

Kundapur, Jan 31: An insulator vehicle rammed into a parked Tata Ace from the rear end at Uppunda flyover, NH 66, on Tuesday, January 31 evening.

The driver of the insulator vehicle was critically injured in the impact.

The Tata Ace vehicle laden with wooden beams and planks used for laying concrete was being driven from Byndoor to Kundapur on NH66 Uppunda Ambagilu when its tyre got punctured. The Tata Ace driver had stopped the vehicle and was changing the tyre. Meanwhile the insulator vehicle belonging to Vinayaka Carriers, Bengaluru that arrived from behind hit it from behind.

The stationary Tata Ace moved forward, climbed the divider due to the impact and stopped. The front portion of the insulator vehicle was badly damaged and a leg of its driver was fractured.

The local people conducted a rescue operation.
