Mangaluru: Fishing boat sinks, eight fishermen rescued

Mangaluru, Feb 3: Fishing boat by the name Jalamatha, which went for fishing got sunk in sea at Ullal on Tuesday. All eight crew on the boat were rescued by nearby boat people. This matter was informed by Mangaluru Trawl boat fishermen association.

The boat was owned by Balakrishna. It was returning after completing fishing while the parts of a ship that sunk earlier came in contact with the bottom of the fishing boat and water began seeping in. The boat sunk within a short time. The loss is estimated to be Rs 60 lac.

A complaint in this regard is given to the coast guard force.
