Panaji, Jun7 : The students who appeared for the Secondary School certificate (SSC) examinations in Goa today created history by achieving the highest pass percentage ever.
Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Chairman Mervyn D’Souza announced that 86.05 per cent students passed for the examination, which is the highest ever percentage recorded by the board.
He said that the passing percentage has been on rise since 2004 in the state.
Of the total 15,329 students appearing for the examination, 13191 students passed. Total 80.75 per cent boys and 79.87 per cent girls passed.
The examinations were held on 24 centres between March 30 and April 09, 2011.
Icing on the cake was cent per cent result achieved by 41 high schools including nine Government High Schools spread across rural Goa.
