Agra, Jun 9 (Bhasker Daily): The city of Taj Mahal woke up to a horrific incident on Thursday as a woman was badly beaten up by her relatives and stripped of her clothes. The woman was dragged to National Highway No.2 after the incident.

The most shameful part of the story is that hundreds of people witnessed the incident under open daylight and didn't do anything to save the woman. Even two policemen silently witnessed the fiasco and didn't take any initiative.

The victim is said to be a resident of Nagla Dhani area of Hari Parwat police station. According to locals, the woman was found in an objectionable posture with a man inside her bedroom. The relatives and neighbours vented their anger on the woman by stripping her naked before dragging her out of her bedroom. The situation took a weird turn when she was beaten up very badly, and dragged by her hair to the national highway. Another unidentified man was also beaten up along with the woman.

The victim's relatives have claimed that the woman had illicit relationship with the man and that she declined to break up from the man inspite of repeated warnings from her relatives. But the victim has claimed that the two people who beat her up is her brother and her sister in law and that all the allegations framed against her were false.

But according to the SHO Avdhesh Mishra of Hariwarta police station, the victim had taken a loan of Rs.50000 from a man. Later the man started flirting with the victim and started living with her inspite of harsh objections from her relatives. The relatives finally lost their cool when the woman was found in an objectionable posture along with her boyfriend inside her bedroom. The police is investigating the matter.
