Mangaluru: YCS, Neermarga Observes Our Lady of Lourdes Feast

Mangaluru, Feb 12: The feast of Our Lady of Lourdes was observed by the YCS, under the able guidance of Fr Anil Canute D'Mello, the parish priest and Arun D'Souza - the animator on February 11.

The celebration of the feast commenced with the Eucharistic Mass celebrated by the parish priest. In his homily Fr Anil beautifully explained the readings of the day and spotlighted on the effects of anger, anger management: tips to curb one’s temper through the narration of a story ‘The Boy and the Fence ‘that was well organized, thought provoking and easy to understand.

After the celebration of the Holy Eucharist the Faithful with lit blessed candles took part in the procession to the grotto, singing hymns and reciting Prayers that created moments of fervour and emotion. Alvita D'Souza placed the brief history about The Lady of Lourdes.

Thereafter, Freyan Vas, Benita, Lishon, Colin, Jenisha and Ancita helped the devotees to pray the Rosary and The Litany of Lady of Lourdes, thereby making it more personal and meaningful through Reflections on the Joyful Mysteries and reminding the assembled that Mother Mary is the help of those in need and that She always leads all to her merciful Son, Jesus Christ.

At the close, Fr Anil D'Mello held brief prayer and blessed the faithful.
