Mangaluru, Feb 20: “Let us keep communal minded powers out and build a nation of development and harmony,” said MP and all India DYFI president Com A A Rahim.

Rahim spoke at the inaugural ceremony of Harekala Kamanna Rai memorial building and youth convention on Sunday at Harekala.

Rahim further said, “Today controversy is created in many matters including caste, religion and hijab. We must understand that these are done in order to be in power. India should come out of all these shackles and emerge as a country of harmony and development. This is the main aim of DYFI. It is a party that provides equal justice to all the religions. Already DYFI has grown as a secular party in India.”

Muneer Katipalla, DYFI leader said, “The building that has come up in memory of Kamanna Rai at Harekala is an evidence to his pro-social and sacrificial fight. His memory is evergreen. Some leaders say that there are six medical colleges in Ullal. But do the poor children of this locality get free education? These are all private medical colleges. We need government medical college. Today education has become a business industry.”

District president Imtiyaz, Ullal zone president Rafiq Harekala, district vice president Jeevan Kuthar, CITU district chief secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal, district secretary Santhosh Bajal, Sunil Tevula, young lawyer Nitin Kuthar, joint secretary Razak Montepadavu, DYFI Harekala village committee president Basheer Lachhil etc were present.

Harekala Hajabba was felicitated during the programme. Nitin Kuthar welcomed the gathering. Rizwan Kandige rendered vote of thanks. Santhosh Bajal compered the event.
