Bengaluru, Feb 21: Finally cracking the whip against the two lady officers, IAS officer Rohini Sinduri and IPS officer Roopa Moudgil, who have been engaged in an ugly catfight against each other by trading abuses and pictures in the social media since the last few days, the State Government has ordered their transfers with immediate effect.

State Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma had already issued notices to both the officers, after they separately met her to explain their position.

Significantly, both the warring lady officers have not be issued any postings.

IAS Officer Rohini Sindhuri was serving as the Commissioner for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments.

IPS Officer Roopa Moudgil was serving as the Managing Director of Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation.

Incidentally, Manish Moudgil, husband of Roopa, has also been shifted from the post of the Commissioner, Survey Settlement and Land Records. But, in his case, he has been posted as Principal Secretary of Department of Administrative and Personnel Reforms (DPAR).

Rohini Sindhuri and Roopa issued media statements and put up social media posts over publication of personal pictures and corruption charges. Both officers, very popular in Karnataka for their anti-politicians stand have continued to spat in public even as the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Home Minister Araga Gnanendra warned them.

Their spat turned ugly as charges included the publication of private pictures. Roopa claimed that Rohini sent her pictures, including private ones, to IAS officers. Rohini's husband Sudheer Reddy termed Roopa "mentally sick". Rohini asked Roopa to get well soon.

Roopa and Rohini had filed complaints against each other with the Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma.

Roopa came to lime light after the arrest of Uma Bharati, then CM of Madhya Pradesh on her way to hoist the tricolour at the controversial Hubballi Idgah Maidan. Roopa is also known for not being submissive to politicians and challenging them.

Rohini Sindhuri had taken on former PM H D Deve Gowda family on their home turf Hassan. Her faceoff with Deve Gowda's son H D Revanna in Hassan has been appreciated by people.

Both officers have huge fan following in Karnataka and as per sources, they have become victims of political move by invisible hands.

Cracking the whip is a phrase to describe the action of enforcing discipline. In this case, government has not only served notice on the two catfighting women but has transferred them with immediate effect from their present posts, and has also taken the action of not giving them any posts. Obviously, they are asked to cool their heels and tempers. In addtion, one of the woman's husband, who himself is an IAS officer, has also been transferred with immediate effect. What do all these actions suggest? Mollycoddling if not cracking the whip?? I think the phrase is very apt and justified.

Govt. played the spoiler. Now, both can clash in politics - roopa can meet her rival in opposition, and Rohini can see her face in the other party.

Bomma should organize a husband and wife tag team mud wrestling competition between these two couples. The ticket money will be enough to wipeout the state’s debt burden.
