Bantwal, Feb 23: The Bantwal unit of BJP staged protests here on Thursday, February against the problems such as building licence, no objection letter, footpaths, panchayat roads, drinking water etc. The protesters said that the higher officials had not submitted their complaints to the gram panchayat management.
Notices of the panchayat ordinary meeting were issued just four or five days earlier instead of seven days in advance. The panchayat development officer does not allow the president and the members to make decisions during the gram panchayat meeting, they said.
The protesters urged transfer of the development officer, dismissal of the gram panchayat president and strengthening of the panchayat system. A request in this connection was submitted to the government through panchayat assistant director Dinesh.
BJP Navoor Shakti Kendra’s Sadananda Navoor, VSS Bank director Harish, panchayat members Vijay, Janardhan, Narayana, Indira, Triveni, Leela Appy, booth committee president and members were present.
