Mangaluru: World Sanskrit Conference concludes at Srinivas University

Mangaluru, Feb 27: "Sanskrit is not a language related to any religion, it is a universal language. We are not born in Bharatvarsha by choice but we are lucky to be born here with a diverse culture," said chief guest of the programme, His Holiness Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaja of ISKCON, Canada where he expressed his views at the closing ceremony of the World Sanskrit Conference at the Mukka campus of Srinivas University on February 26.

Dr Vitthal Joshi, technoprenuer and educationist from Hyderabad, said that no one can become a scholar without knowledge of Sanskrit. There is need to understand that Sanskrit is not mere language of rituals infact the language of Sanatana. He further added that if you know Sanskrit, it is very easy to learn other languages.

Srinivas University honourable chancellor Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, who presided the programme said that the government should help and cooperate with more research in Sanskrit language. We look forward to new revolution in Sanskrit language and culture through this conference. He said that this conference is like a drop in the ocean of Sanskrit.

Srinivas University honourable pro-Chancellor Dr A. Srinivas Rao, Srinivas University Board of Governors trustee members A Vijayalakshmi R. Rao, prof ER A Mitra S Rao, Padmini Kumar, professor of Oncology from Bangalore Dr Udaya Kumar Maiya, vice-chancellor Dr P S Aital, registrar Aditya Kumar Maiya, Dr Deepika Aditya Kumar Maiya, register (Evaluation) Srinivas Mayya D, register (Development), Dr Ajay Kumar, co-convener Dr B Gopalchar were present.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of the Bhagavad Gita recitation competition held for students. The researchers who presented in the conference were honoured.

Registrar Dr Anil Kumar welcome the gathering, Institute of Physiotherapy dean, Dr Rajasekhar offered vote of thanks. Dr Vijayalakshmi, Prof Rohan Fernandes, Dr Ambika Malya compered the event.

Tirupati Padmavathi Srinivasa Kalyanotsava was held at the World Conference Sabha Mantapa of Srinivasa College Mukka campus.
