New Delhi, June 15 (PTI) Music has always been the soul of Bollywood movies but singers and composers in the industry feel that not enough is being done to promote other genres of the art.
"Music has become restricted to Bollywood but there is a lot more besides those songs. We are limiting our approach to only one stream and genre," said Shankar Mahadevan, National award winning music director.
Songs like 'Shiela' and 'Munni' may have sparked off a trend of raunchy item numbers in Bollywood but the musicians feel that there is a need to introduce the audience to the non-commercial music.
"Music is so vast that what is shown in Bollywood is only a portion of it.
