Udupi, Mar 1: The department of ophthalmology, Kasturba Medical College and Hospital, MAHE Manipal in association with Udupi Ophthalmic Society (UDOS) under the aegis of Uveitis Society of India, Karnataka Ophthalmic Society (KOS) conducted a CME 'Uveitis Pe Charcha' on February 26 at Interact lecture hall, KMC, Manipal.
The CME was inaugurated by Dr Padmaraj Hegde, dean, KMC, Manipal. During his address he stressed on the importance of subspecialities in improving patient care and appreciated the advancement in uveitis management in Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.
Dr Sudarshan S, secretary Uveitis Society of India, Dr Krishna Prasad Kudlu, president, Karnataka Ophthalmic Society, Dr Srinath Kamath, president, Udupi District Ophthalmic Society and Dr Shiran Shetty, deputy medical superintendent, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal were the guests of honour.
Dr Yogish S Kamath, professor & hod of Ophthalmology and organizing chairperson, gave the welcome address. Dr Soumya S, organizing secretary delivered the vote of thanks.
Eminent speakers from across India gave talk on various aspects of uveitis. The CME was well attended by ophthalmologists and postgraduate students from various colleges of Karnataka. The OEU Alumni Rolling trophy for debate was handed over to the winner Dr Krutika Reddy, Sankara Eye Hospital, Shivamogga by grand jury Dr Lavanya Rao. An exciting quiz was conducted where 13 teams participated and the winners are Dr Shreeya and Dr Harshith from AJ Hospital, Mangaluru.
