New Delhi, Jun 18 : Senior BJP leader from Maharastra Gopinath Munde who is also the deputy leader of BJP in the Lok Sabha arrived here in the capital this evening, first time after rumours of possible 'defection' following certain decisions which went against his wish. Munde is scheduled to meet the BJP High Command and discuss at length various issues, primarily that of not selecting candidate of his preference for the post of Pune BJP unit chief.
Munde was upset after party national president Nitin Gadkari who too hails from Maharastra chose his own candidate Vikas Mathkari for the post of Pune BJP unit as chief.
Peeved with the unitaral decision by Gadkari, rumour mills started making rounds that Munde had’ Revolted' against the party chief and that there were likely chances of him joining the Shiv Sena.
But as he arrived at the Capital, Munde reportedly told the media fraternity that being a disciplined soldier of BJP, he would abide by High Command's decision. However, if further added that he is hopeful that justice will be done at the end and the matter will be resolved.
He is expected to meet senior BJP leaders that include L K Advani and Sushma Swaraj.
Munde, a prominent OBC leader from Maharashtra, is said to have been upset after his lieutenant Yogesh Gogawale was sidelined for the post of Pune BJP president and Gadkari loyalist Vikas Mathkari was appointed instead.
