Udupi, Mar 25: District congress workers staged protests in front of Ajjarkad memorial in the city against the disqualification from parliament membership of Rahul Gandhi. They shouted slogans against the alleged 40% government, chief minister Basavaraj Bommai and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

District president Ashok Kodavoor said that the BJP party was afraid after Rahul Gandhi held Bharath Jodo rally and wanted to somehow suppress his voice. “Therefore he has been disqualified from parliamentary membership within 24 hours of the release of court orders. We condemn the conspiracy behind it,” they said.

Leaders M A Gafoor, Ramesh Kanchan, Amrath Shenoy, Prasad Kanchan and others were present.
