Employee Seeking Salary Pushed to Death by Boss

Nagpur, June 24 (IANS) In a shocking case, a security guard demanding his salary was pushed to death by his employer in this Maharashtra city, police said Thursday. The employer has been arrested.

The incident occurred Wednesday morning, said Inspector N.R. Dumbelkar of Gittikhadan police station,

According to police, the victim, Santosh Vishwakarma had been working as a security guard with Carewell Security and was posted at the Dinshaw Factory here.

However, after working for a little over a month, Vishwakarma was removed from service as he was found drunk on duty, he said.

Vishwakarma had gone to the Carewell Security owner Deepak Pandey Wednesday and demanded his salary since his wife was not keeping well.

Pandey is believed to have refused to give him the salary, leading to a heated argument followed by fisticuffs between them, Dumbelkar said.

In the melee that followed, Vishwakarma was allegedly pushed down the second floor office by Pandey and some others present there.

Injured seriously, Vishwakarma was rushed to a hospital by Pandey and his office guards but he succumbed late last night.

"Pandey had locked up an important eyewitness to the whole incident. The eyewitness managed to escape from his clutches last night and he came and lodged a complaint with us," Dumbelkar said.

Based on the complaint, Pandey has been arrested and charged with murder even as further investigations are underway in the matter, he said.
