Bantwal, March 29: “Amruth drinking water project has been approved only for Bantwal in the Dakshina Kannada district. It will solve the drinking water issues in the municipal council limits,” said MLA Rajesh Naik.
He was speaking after laying the foundation for a Rs 40.16 crore drinking water supply project under Amruth 2 at the council premises on Wednesday, March 29.
“A dam costing Rs 135 crore is being constructed at Jakribettu as a solution for water related issues. The drainage project costing Rs 56 crore has been approved and it is at the tender stage. Action is being taken for the disposal of trash. I will receive segregated dry trash,” he said.
Municipal council vice president Jacinta D’ Souza, Buda president Devadas Shetty and local leaders were present.
Municipal council chief executive Lena Britto welcomed. Assistant executive engineer Shobhalaxmi gave details of the works.
