Mangaluru, Mar 30: A 79-year-old man got down into the well in order to escape from the attack of wasps. Three people got injured, two of them seriously at Bola of Naringana village.

Robert Cutinha (79), a resident of Bola escaped from the attack as he got down into the well. His son Rayal Cutinha (39) is seriously injured and is admitted to the hospital. Joseph Cutinha, brother of Robert, who ran to help his brother was also stung by the wasps. Joseph Cutinha’s son Akil also came under the attack of wasps.

The wasps attacked Robert as he was going upstairs to the terrace to remove the dried clothes on Thursday morning. Robert Cutinha was stung 150 times by the wasps. When he screamed, his son Rayal ran for his rescue and he too was stung badly by the wasps.

Even after getting down from the terrace, the wasps chased Robert and he got down into the well and immersed himself in water, as he had no other option and came up after the wasps went away.

Rayal, son of Robert received 22 injuries and his face was swollen. Rayal’s wife and baby were sitting on the sit-out of the house but escaped as other family members alerted them. They were not stung by the wasps as mosquito nets are put on the windows of the house.

All injured are hospitalized.
