Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JS/EP)

Udupi, Mar 31: The Congress party released the first list of candidates for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections on Friday, March 31.

Meanwhile, the BJP has begun a new experiment to collect opinions about their likely candidates today.

According to chief minister Basavaraj Bommai in Bengaluru, Shakti Kendra and senior officers will cast votes to indicate who should be the candidates. State-level and national-level leaders will then discuss the opinions, and the parliament board will prepare a final list.

Opinions are also being collected in Udupi. Five Vidhan Sabha MLAs and party office bearers will participate in the exercise. District President Kuilady Suresh Nayak stated that the BJP's experiment shows that it follows democracy.

Nearly 700 people from Udupi district have submitted their opinions through votes, which will be opened only by the state president and organizing chief secretary. Based on these opinions, the tickets will be issued.
