Mangaluru, Apr 2: A significant number of police officers conducted a surprise inspection at the district prison in the city on Sunday, April 2.

Approximately 250 officers simultaneously entered the prison premises and carried out frisking of prisoners and a search of the facilities.

The jail officials may not have got anything for chai. If common man goes for a visit to jail, the jail officials ask for chai. All must have understood the meaning of chai.

News says inspection is prompted by forthcoming elections. I don’t think there are any terrorists or dons in this prison who can influence elections. Majority of the criminals are drug peddlers, petty thieves and a few history sheeters who are least bothered of politics.
