Pakistan Censor Board to Ban 'Delhi Belly'?

Karachi, Jul 1: This is one news Aamir Khan may find hard to 'digest'. The Pakistan censor board has put the clearance for his 'Delhi Belly', which is due for release on July 1, on hold.

The movie was suppose to get clearance certificate for public viewing, but is now stuck with the censor board.

A leading cineplex in Karachi, which was suppose to screen the movie from July 1, has informed media that the Pakistan censor board has not cleared the movie, so for the time being the screening is off. The film is unlikely to be released in Pakistan.

The move has brought huge disappointment to the cinema fans around Pakistan who were waiting to watch the movie that features Imran Khan, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Poorna Jagannathan, Vir Das and Shenaz Treasurywala.

Speaking to the media, a young fan of Imran Khan said that this was unfair on the part of the Pakistan censor board, "When the entire world is screening the movie, why not in Pakistan?" he demanded.

It may be reaclled that in 2010 the censor board had banned the exhibition of ''Tere Bin Laden'', which was the debut of singer Ali Zafar, due to concerns that the depiction of the slain Al Qaeda leader could trigger terror attacks on cinema halls.
