Mangaluru: Inter-state thief arrested over pick-up vehicle theft

Mangaluru, Apr 8: Ullal police arrested a thief, who stole a pick-up vehicle parked near Kotekar on NH 66 and recovered the vehicle from him.

Ahmed Ramzan alias Ramzan (26), resident of Melparamba Mangad in Kerala state, is the accused who is under police custody now.

The pick-up that was parked near the South India timer depot at Kotekar was stolen on January 3. Owner of the vehicle Mohammed Sharif had filed a complaint in Ullal police station. The police who took up the investigation traced the theft to Ramzan, who is an inter-state vehicle thief. There are cases filed against Ramzan at Hosadurga, Kasargod, Kumble, Bedagam and Bekal police stations of Kerala state.

Station officer Sandeep G S, SI Krishna K H, Santhosh, Manjeshwara Chandavara, ASI Shekhar Gatty, Riju, HCs Ranjit, Praveen Shetty and PCs Ashok, Vasudev took part in the operation.
